Waking up to a new tomorrow
Most people are not prepared for how AI will affect everything. Very soon.
Even those who read a lot about AI often don’t grasp the real consequences or how it will impact their own lives.
It’s reminiscent of climate change – people hear about it, think they understand, but fail to comprehend its true implications.
I’ve encountered developers working on AI-related projects who don’t believe AI can replace coders or that robots will take human jobs. This mindset is dangerously naive.
The reality is that AI is advancing at an unprecedented rate, and its impact will be far-reaching and profound.
Just look at what has happened the last years, or even this year. ChatGPT was released 2022 using GPT-3.5. GPT-4 was released 2023. GPT-4o in May 2024 and then the model o1 in September 2024 and then the Realtime API 2 days ago on the OpenAI DevDay, that enables any developer to build Jarvis.
And that is just what OpenAI is up to. We have Anthropic, Google, Meta, xAI, Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, Midjourney, Stability and many more working in a frantic pace.
Things are accelerating fast and if we don’t hit any roadblocks in the development the world will look very different in a few years.
We need to shift our mindset around AI and try to see where we fit in this new world that is taking shape.
The future isn’t about traditional skills or job titles. What matters is taking a position, standing for something, being a strong voice or brand. Everything else follows from there.
In a world where AI can perform complex tasks, crunch numbers, write code, and even create art, our uniquely human qualities become our most valuable assets.
The ability to connect, inspire, and lead will set us apart. AI can generate content, but it can’t be a thought leader.
It can analyze trends, but it can’t be a visionary. It can execute tasks, but it can’t be a passionate advocate for a cause.
The future belongs to those who can position themselves as trusted voices in their fields. It’s about building relationships, fostering communities, and bringing a distinctly human touch to whatever you do.
Start thinking about how you can build your personal brand.
What do you stand for?
What unique perspective do you bring to your field?
How can you position yourself not just as a worker, but as a leader and influencer in your industry?
The AI revolution is imminent, and it will reshape our world in ways we can barely imagine. By focusing on our uniquely human strengths – our creativity, our empathy, our ability to inspire and connect – we can find our place in this new landscape.
It’s time to stop viewing AI as a distant future technology and start preparing for the massive changes it’s about to bring.
The sooner we adapt our thinking and our approach, the better positioned we’ll be to thrive in the AI-driven future that’s rapidly approaching.
