Launch early: A lesson from the original iPhone
The original iPhone was introduced by Steve Jobs in January 2007 with a big splash. But the iPhone that started it all wasn’t the feature-packed super gadget we know today.
It did combine a phone, a camera and an internet device. But it lacked a lot of other things we take for granted today.
Let’s take a stroll down memory lane and see what was absent in that groundbreaking device.
Missing features of the original iPhone
- Copy and paste
- Front camera
- Appstore
- Video recording
- Flashlight
- Photo messages
- GPS
- Home screen wallpapers
- Retina display
- 3G
Despite these missing features, the iPhone was a hit. It taught us an important lesson in tech and in life: you don’t need to be perfect from the start.
Launch early, iterate towards a clear goal, and don’t be afraid to evolve. Just like how the iPhone grew from a simple gadget to the powerhouse it is today, sometimes starting small can lead to big things.
Remember, every giant leap starts with a small step – or in the iPhone’s case, a small feature set. Keep iterating!
